Type 1 Charging Cables

The same applies to the type 1 connector for the vehicle side. When selecting the length, please consider that the parking space of the charging station may be blocked by another electric vehicle. For cases like this, it makes sense to choose a cable length which is not too short. 6 meters are usually a good choice. It is also recommended to select a charging cable according to the maximum charging power of your EV. For example, if the charging port of your electric vehicle charges with 16A, you cannot charge more than 16A, even if the charging station or charging cable allows 32A. Does my electric vehicle need a type 1 charging cable?
Type 1 charging cables are suitable for vehicles with an IEC62196-1 connection on the vehicle side. The type 1 (male) connector has a different profile than a type 2 charging cable, so it is important to select the correct charging cable type. It is also important to buy a type 1 charging cable with the correct amperage and number of phases. A single-phase charging cable (3.7 kW or 7.4 kW) uses a 230V standard connection.

Adapter for charging cable type 1
