The company Lightyear One has developed a car which, thanks to solar panels on the roof, charges as you drive. That sounds promising! The Lightyear One is a super-efficient electric car that doesn't need to be plugged into a wall socket. The only disadvantage is that it has a price tag of 149,000 euros.

The Lightyear One doesn't come cheap, but then you also have something. The electric car reaches a top speed of 150 kilometres per hour. The range of the electric car is 575 kilometres. The Lightyear can be charged at a regular socket, but also via charging stations and charging cables. The Lightyear One requires a type 2 charging station and 3-phase 32A charging cables.
